Immigration / Visa Procedures

Citizens of countries that do not have embassies, consulates or representative offices in the Republic of Cyprus and citizens of countries other than European Union countries can be granted a visa upon entry with a passport valid for at least six months.

Citizens of countries with embassies, consulates or representative offices in the TRNC and citizens of European Union countries can be granted a visa for entry with a passport valid for at least two months.

The duration of stay in the TRNC with a visa cannot exceed ninety days at a time and ninety days in every one hundred and eighty days.

Foreigners may be granted visas up to a maximum of ninety days at border gates and ports, depending on the type of visa, if they show that they will leave the TRNC in due time and fulfill the other conditions in this regulation. The Council of Ministers decides on the citizens of the countries who need to obtain a visa before coming to the Republic of Cyprus. Citizens of Armenia, Nigeria and Syria, who are within this scope, are required to enter the Republic of Cyprus by obtaining a visa stating their purpose of arrival from the Republic of Cyprus representative offices abroad.

Information or documents may be requested from foreigners applying for a visa at the discretion of the Immigration Officer at the ports of entry, and a comprehensive check may be carried out by the responsible unit.

YOU SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO THE VALIDITY PERIOD OF YOUR PASSPORT BEFORE YOU ENTER THE REPUBLIC.
