Points to Consider After Egg Retrieval (Opu)

You have just had an egg retrieval procedure. After the procedure, you may experience pain in the groin reminiscent of menstrual pain and some vaginal spotting. In case of bleeding more than your period, fever above 38 degrees Celsius, pain and fainting, you should preferably contact our hospital or a nearby hospital if you are far away.
General tiredness and tendency to sleep may be due to the medication given during the egg retrieval procedure and it takes about 24 hours for these medications to be eliminated from the body. You can take solid/liquid food 2 hours after the egg retrieval. If you feel nauseous, avoid heavy and spicy foods. You should eat light food for the first day until you feel better with tea, biscuits or similar foods.
Detailed information about your eggs and embryos will be given by our embryology specialist and our doctor. There is no harm in swimming in the sea or pool during this period. You can sunbathe, but not for a long time.
Continue sexual abstinence. If you need to use medication other than these medications, please inform us.
